Where ’57 Chevy’s Lay to Rest

A photograph of a student at home in a farm in Taylorville, Illinois.

Kenneth Engeling, NERS PhD Student, stands on top of a '57 Chevy that is nested in the backfield of his family's farm in Taylorville, Illinois. The cars are abandoned fix-up projects by Engeling's grandfather in the back cornfields of the family's farm. The centennial farm has been in the family for over 150 years and is a large inspiration behind his research project at U-M involving the plasma treatment of soybean seeds in order to grow more robust crops.
