A photograph of a student working in lab.

Yukai Gong, Robotics PhD Student, installs a battery into Cassie, a bipedal robot, on North Campus of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. Gong is part of a first wave of individuals who has been granted access to College of Engineering buildings on North Campus as part of the pilot phase of building reopening across the University of Michigan. Gong and the rest of their research group have been working on the coding behind the bipedal robot while the lab has been closed and are anxious to see how the robot performs in tests with their new code.
