Opdyke Family Graduate Fellowship Fund established

The Opdyke Family Graduate Fellowship Fund will provide need-based support for graduate students in the Engineering Global Leadership (EGL) specialization track of the Michigan Engineering Honors Program.| Short Read

Jonathan W. Opdyke (BSE IOE ’99, MSE ’00) and his family have recently established an endowment fund at the College of Engineering.  The Opdyke Family Graduate Fellowship Fund will provide need-based support for graduate students in the Engineering Global Leadership (EGL) specialization track of the Michigan Engineering Honors Program, with preference to students who are residents of the State of Michigan.  Should there be no eligible EGL student at the time of the award selection process, this fellowship will support graduate students who are residents of the State of Michigan within the Department of Industrial and Operations Engineering.  This gift qualified for the Third Century Matching Initiative.

Mr. Opdyke currently serves as the Chief Strategy Officer of Criteo, the leading commerce marketing technology company with over 30 offices worldwide.  In this recently appointed role, Mr. Opdyke oversees corporate strategy, acquisitions, and alliances for the company.   Previously, Mr. Opdyke was the CEO and co-founder of HookLogic, which was acquired by Criteo in 2016.  At HookLogic, he developed the startup company into a global enterprise powering advertising programs across the internet’s most recognized ecommerce sites.  Opdyke credits the cross-disciplinary and global approach of EGL to preparing him for his future entrepreneurial endeavors.  He currently serves on the EGL Alumni Board, and as its inaugural chairman, he helped establish an annual fund for EGL alumni to sponsor students on organized volunteer projects in developing countries.

Mr. Opdyke and his wife, Mrs. Kelly Opdyke (nee Morrison, BA ’98), both grew up in Michigan, and now reside in New York City with their three young children.
