Elnaz Kabir, a PhD student in Industrial and Operations Engineering, won the Best Poster Award at the Society for Risk Analysis (SRA) 2016 Risk Analysis Annual Meeting held from December 11 – 15, 2016 in San Diego, California.

The title of Elnaz’s poster is “Comparison and validation of statistical methods for predicting the failure probability of trees.” The featured research develops an accurate predictive model for assessing the failure probability of trees, to help tree care professionals make better decisions about whether or not to remove a tree.
