Perry J. Samson, Arthur F. Thurnau Professor and Associate Chair in the Department of Climate and Space Sciences and Engineering, has endowed the Perry J. Samson Student Support Fund. The Fund provides support to undergraduate students in the Department of Climate and Space Sciences and Engineering (CLaSP). Uses may include support for: first-generation students, summer field programs (e.g., storm-chasing), recruiting and retention, and travel to atmospheric sciences conferences.
This gift qualifies for the University’s Michigan Matching Initiative for Student Support.
Perry is co-founder of the website Weather Underground, one of the first online weather services.
