Professor Athanasopoulos-Zekkos earns professional development award

Assistant Professor Adda Athanasopoulos-Zekkos was recently selected by the Geo-Institute to receive the 2015 Arthur Casagrande Professional Development Award.| Short Read

Athanasopoulos-Zekkos earned this award through her contributions in the seismic risk assessment of levee protection systems against flooding. The committee particularly noted her contributions to the study of earthen levees.

The Arthur Casagrande Professional Development Award is presented in recognition of outstanding accomplishments as evidenced by completed works, reports or papers in the field of geotechnical engineering. The award was established to provide professional development opportunities for outstanding young practitioners, researchers and teachers of geotechnical engineering.
