Bob Stevens (MSE CE ’70, PhD CE ‘72) will be installed as the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) President-Elect in October 2013.

Stevens is the first ASCE Technical Region director to be elected president. He has been involved with ASCE since his undergraduate years at the University of Akron and he has served on 38 ASCE and Transportation and Development Institute (T&DI) committees. Stevens also sits on the governing boards of Engineers Without Borders–USA and the American Road and Transportation Builders Association.

“I am thrilled to have this opportunity to be the president-elect of ASCE,” Stevens told the ASCE News. “As I talk to different groups around the country, I find members are not aware of all of the opportunities ASCE has to offer; whether it be geographically, technically or professionally.”

Stevens currently works for ARCADIS in Texas.
