The summer school, which was held from June 14 through 18, was dedicated to PhD students, post doctoral candidates, researchers and professors interested in ecohydrology. Ivanov was among a group of four guest lecturers, comprised of three professors from U.S. universities (Duke, Princeton and Michigan) as well as a professor from the University of Basilicata in Italy.
Ivanov graduated from MIT with a PhD in hydrology, and has been an assistant professor at U-M for three years.
